MARRIAGE AND RELATIONSHIP: DISCOVERIES YOU SHOULD MAKE BEFORE YOU ANSWER I DO
A
marriage is the relationship between husband and wife; it is the coming
together of man and a woman to start up a new family. Gen 2:18,24. God’s desire
is that we are happy people and this led Him into instituting marriage.
A
happy marriage must have a perfect balance between the physical and spiritual.
To maintain this balance, it is necessary that certain discoveries be made
before you say I do.
1. BECOME AN ADULT: Babies
cannot produce but an adults. You must as well become self-dependent and not a
parasite.
2. HAVE A MATURED MIND: In this stage
adolescent you still need to have a matured mind for positive reasoning.
3. CONSULT GOD: At
this point, you need God most to avoid a wrong choice.
4. CONFIDENTIALITY: The
outcome of your prayers must be kept with you at this early stage.
5. OPEN YOUR PHYSICAL EYE: Begin
to evaluate and asses what the spiritual eye saw to see how they correspond with one another, because
often times, what you see in the course of prayers oppose your desire as a
person.
6. DO NOT COMPROMISE YOUR DESIRE: Be
bold enough to tell yourself the truth, that this is not what I want (Read
Gen.29:22-27).
7. BE PATIENT AND MAKE NO HASTE.
8. THE COURTSHIP: This
is the most controversial and troublesome stage which if not properly and
prayerfully handled spoils the beauty of the whole thing. This is the stage
where 90% of the youth fail. Why?
a. Wrong approach:
(Declaring your intention to your would be)
b. Sowing an untimely
seed (planting seed you are not ready to water) do not forget that love is a
seed.
c. moving into an
un-prepared responsibility.( you will see yourself catering for a wife and yet
unmarried)
d. Opening a room
for pretence: If I am told that mr. A is watching me, nothing stops me from
being the best at the presence of mr. A’s observations).
e. Emergency
parenthood.
